HELLO - I'M AKHIL KUMAR
I'm a researcher, engineer, and photographer — passionate about solving meaningful problems and creating work with purpose, precision, and a quiet sense of craft that refuses to cut corners.
As a PhD researcher in Germany, I develop next-generation energy storage technologies at the intersection of electrochemistry, engineering, and data-driven research — designing experiments, building test stands, and turning long nights of data into design rules that hold up outside the lab. Outside that lab, photography fuels my creativity and reinforces the same values I bring to science: curiosity, patience, precision, and a stubborn attention to detail.
Whether I'm in the laboratory or behind the camera, framing a portrait or framing a hypothesis, I strive to create work that is thoughtful, honest, impactful, and built to last — work that ages well, ideas that survive contact with reality, and stories worth returning to long after the shutter closes.
